NOT EVEN THE OVENS FAULT.....

.....or enough with the ovens, already!


Shopgirl does not like to discover, 15 minutes before she needs to leave, that the entree for lunch is still FROZEN in the middle. This is not a good sign at all. It causes undue stress for poor shopgirl. The immediate solution is to crank the ovens up and pop the entress back in for an extra half hour, thus sending shopgirl to the school much later than she really likes to arrive, but still in plenty of time to get it all done.
Lesson learned though, shopgirl will make sure that the entrees are removed from the freezer a full 24 hours prior to the day that it needs to be used. The buck stops with the lunch lady, eh?

Shopgirl gets to the school, later than usual, fully planning to put the entrees into the oven up at the school. I talk to Xochilt, the girl that works with me, and discover that she only "THOUGHT" she turned the ovens on this morning. Now, shopgirl has not only the entrees she wants to return to the world of ovens but the six (6) loaves of sliced and buttered bread that need to be heated as well. This is not my oven day, is it?

ENOUGH with the ovens, already!

Oh, did you want to know the menu? I can promise you, that once shopgirl got it all under control, lunch was quite yummy and HOT! Baked Ziti, Garlic Bread, Salad, Apple Slices and Brownie Bites! The kids LOVE this meal! "oh cool, baked ziti!" was exclaimed numerous times today in the lunch line.

Shopgirl did scoop today. I scooped and baked 96 lemon cupcakes, which will be frosted with lemon buttercream and used for Thursdays lunch.

Job security was there in force when I got back after lunch. Sugar cookie dough to be scooped. 218 cookies to be exact. Luckily, Bro helped scoop the cookies. The cookies are now in the freezer, awaiting transfer into lexans for safe freezer keeping, because shopgirl practices safe freezing at all costs!
