.......Pecans: Nuts or Not?!?
Per the request made by Tree (shopgirl waves to Tree) here is the recipe for the "NutBalls".
Pecan Balls in Apricot-Barbecue Sauce
1 ¼ cup cracker crumbs
¾ cup finely chopped pecans
1 cup onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. sage
¾ cup grated longhorn cheddar cheese
2 pressed garlic cloves
3 TBSP fresh parsley, chopped
4 eggs
Combine all ingredients and form into (oddly enough) walnut-sized balls. Fry in deep fat fryer until golden brown and place in casserole dish. Pour Apricot-Barbecue Sauce over the top and bake, uncovered in a 350° oven for 30 minutes. Serves 6 - 8.

½ cup oil
½ cup lemon juice
1 ½ cup apricot jam
1 cup ketchup
4 TBSP brown sugar
4 TBSP grated onion
1 tsp salt
Whisk all sauce ingredients together until well blended.

Has it been determined yet? Meat or Nuts?
Hmmm, apricot BBQ Sauce? interesting. OF course! They must be meat because you dont' put BBQ sauce on NUTS!
