CANDY CORN PART II.....
......or crafty comes to the shop.
Wednesdays at the shop are spent baking. We attempt to fill the freezers with as many baked goods as we can in an attempt to get ahead of the game. When the freezer is full and we get an order, its nothing more than pulling whatever items out of the freezer and doing the final prep for presentation and serving.
Todays list:
Pumpkin Bread
Chile Cheesecakes
Cookies
Chicken Soup
Chicken soup was put on to do its magic as soon as we got into the shop today. Bro has decided that since my throat is scratchy and we have had a few cold, wet, rainy days, that homemade chicken soup was a very important food item. We had it for lunch and it was VERY good! Bro sent home extra that I am supposed to eat, as well as take my extra vitamin C and Airborne. Bossy Bro, isn't he? giggle ( I can say that cuz he doens't read here that I know of.)
The Pumpkin Bread proved to be a bit of a sticky annoyance due to the fact that I misread the recipe. Luckily, I caught it BEFORE putting it into pans and into the ovens. Come to find out, BRO made this EXACT mistake in the recipe reading late last week, with the end result being that pumpkin bread flowed out all over the insides of the ovens, thus causing him to have to dismantle and totally clean both ovens. The upside to that is the ovens are VERY clean now and the renegade baked ziti is all gone. Needless to say, the recipe has been altered to indicate the PROPER amounts and dutifully highlighted as well.
The second time around for pumpkin bread went very well and I scooped and baked 72 small mini breads, 6 medium mini breads, 3 medium breads and 3 large bundt pans.
My next task was to fill and bake chile cheesecakes. This is the most delicious savory cheesecake I have ever tasted and is served just shy of room temperature with Tortilla Chips. I filled and baked off 8 4-inch, 6 6-inch, 2 large and 12 cupcake size Chile Cheesecakes.
Once we were finished with the above, the fun began.
It's ALL about the CANDY CORN .
Sugar cookie dough plus food coloring produces the most fun cookie of all.
What do you think? Wanna try one?
Shopgirl needs a drink. Can I offer you one too?

Where there is beauty, there is ugliness.
When something is right, something else is wrong.
Knowledge and ignorance depend on each other.
It has been like this since the beginning.
How could it be otherwise now?
Wanting to toss out one and hold onto the other
makes for a ridiculous comedy.
You must still deal with everything ever-changing,
even when you say it’s wonderful.
I am sorry.
