It's Like.......

..........You know.

I don't know if anyone remembers the short lived sitcom staring Jennifer Grey with the above title. I miss that show. One of the funniest episodes is summarized thusly:

Arthur, Shrug, Robbie, Lauren, Jennifer and all of L.A. are glued to the set watching a televised car chase, particularly when Shrug realizes that the driver is his old friend Hilo Beckworthy, on the lam for the heinous crime of lighting up a cigarette at Spago's. Jennifer, however, worries that the premiere of her career-reviving American Express TV commercial will be preempted. (When we finally see the commercial, her line is "Don't change your face without it.")

Cut to this morning as I am watching a morning news show when I am suddenly preempted by "breaking news". I am thinking, "Oh no, what now" when I see that the images on the TV are that of a CAR CHASE. My thoughts immediately go to this show and I start to crack up. I am hooked, of course. Who can pass up a LIVE televised Car Chase? The only thing that would have made it better is if I could have phoned my daughter and said "its like....you know" and passed on the Car Chase news, which I know, had it been possible she would have dropped whatever she was doing to attempt to tune in.

Suspect Steals Police SUV

Ayinde O. Chase - All Headline News Staff Writer

Lancaster, CA (AHN) - A 25-year-old woman stole a Los Angeles law enforcement police vehicle, leading authorities on a chase through residential streets and neighborhoods. Fortunately, the pursuit ends peacefully with no injuries.

The apparently unstable woman, who at times sobbed and screamed uncontrollably, took control of the SUV after she was picked up in a stolen car investigation.

Authorities were hesitant to use standard vehicle stopping tactics, but remained in pursuit. The chase weaved through neighborhoods as the suspect apparently tried to get back to the scene of the initial theft.

The chase began near Palmdale and authorities are in contact with her as she pleads to speak with her mother and boyfriend.

Authorities followed the stolen SUV in surveillance mode using a police helicopter.

And a car chase in LA is news how? ;)

But seriously, that is funny (hmmm, serious, and funny in one sentence?)

Oh, and was the insurance paid up on that vehicle?
