A Musical Snack.
One of my favorite sounds of Christmas is the music. Growing up we looked forward to Thankgiving evening because that was the exact moment that Mom would gather up the Christmas music for a nonstop feast of the most wonderful sounds that would last until the end of the month. We would beg her to allow the feast to begin prior to Thanksgiving evening but she would never budge. When my own children began to question the logic in that, because it was a tradition that I took into my own little family, I took their questions under advisement and really had no good reason why we couldn't have Christmas music earlier in the month, other than "cuz grandma says so." From that time on the Christmas music feast began to make its debut on my birthday in mid November. We have a great collection from Elvis Presley to Frank Sinatra to The Transiberian Orchestra to the Vince Guaraldi Trio to Music Box Favorites.

YOU never heard of Dominick???? He's the Italian Christmas Donkey!!! And the song is technically a tarantella - which is an Italian folk dance - so let's go! Chingadeching! He-haw-he-haw It's Dominick the Donkey....

White Christmas? LOL - It was written by a Jew (Irving Berlin) for a movie about New Years (Holiday Inn)...
But regardless, that Bing can really sing, can't he??!?!?!? WOW! For a real treat - see Little Drummer Boy as done by Bing and David Bowie!!! Fabulous!
Eric
P.S. Not many white Christmases in the desert, huh?

I must agree .... Bing and Dave do an awesome job on the drummer boy! Great musical taste Eric.

ummm Christmas balls everywhere here eh? I am thinking partridges and pear trees for some reason... or the very classic Bob and Doug McKenzie Canadian version.... too insde though if you live in a desert... I won't make that a request....

My new request - Twisted Sister are back together do "O Come All Ye Faithful" to the tune of "We're Not Gonna Take It" and close it out with "Hava Nagila"
A true classic, really - it's SO CLEVER - Thanks Dee Sneider & Gang!

While the climax of the movie, Holiday Inn centers around the New Years eve party at the Inn, it's more a comedic love story more than a movie about a particular holiday. But it is a great movie.
However, the movie White Christmas, was where the song was probably more known from, and that was indeed a Christmas film, and the one T.I.M. always thinks of when the song is played.
Love the ending with the General, and the snow in Vermont, and the love interests actually working things out.
